“Ms. McCauley, a humanitarian soul who touched Lankan lives with profound empathy” – Minister Bathiudeen on the passing of UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative in Sri Lanka

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rishad Bathiudeen issuing a condolence message on the demise of Una McCauley, the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Representative in Sri Lanka, stressed that Ms. McCauley was a humanitarian soul who touched Sri Lankan lives with her profound empathy.

Minister Bathiudeen recalled the remarkable assistance given by Ms. McCauley, and expressed his sincere gratitude on behalf of all Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Sri Lanka for her services.

Sri Lanka will always remember with gratitude, Ms. McCauley’s contribution towards Muslim IDPs, he added.
