“Prices of 7 essential commodities reduced in view of Independence Anniversary” – Minister Bathiudeen

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has taken initiatives to reduce the prices of seven essential food commodities in view of the 70th Independence Day.

Accordingly a kilogramme of Basmathi Rice will be Rs. 120 and a kilogramme of White Raw Rice Rs. 60. It has been decided to sell a kilogramme of Broken Rice at Rs. 59. A kilogramme of Dhal will cost Rs. 159, while a kilogramme of Green Gram has been reduced to Rs. 195. The Ministry has decided to sell a kilogramme of Big Onions at Rs. 110 and a kilogramme of Dried Chillies at Rs. 220.

Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said that these commodities can be purchased via the Sathosa outlets, and these price reductions will be effective until the 07th of this month.
