Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the island – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The deep depression in the Bay of Bengal sea area is weakened into a depression and moving further away from Sri Lanka. Hence, there is no further effect to the country and the possibility for rainy weather is very less over the island.

This system is located nearly 1250 km to the North-east of Trincomalee and move towards north-northeast direction along Odisha coast of India. It is likely to weakening gradually during next 24hours.

Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the island.

However, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in the Hambantota district after 2.00 PM.
