(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Three suspects have been arrested for the possession of 16 counterfeit Rs. 5,000 currency notes in Nattandiya.
The Police said the raid was carried out following information received by the Marawila Police.
Upon the arrest of one suspect and information uncovered through subsequent questioning, two more suspects were arrested. The Police stated the two suspects aged 21 and 37 are residents of Nattandiya.
The suspects will be produced before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court on Monday (03).
The Marawila Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
