Several areas at risk of landslides have been identified

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The death toll resulting from floods and landslides rose to 206, while another 96 people are still reported missing.

The DMC have stated that 629 thousand 704 people from 15 Districts have been impacted by the flooding.

The National Building Research Organization said if rainfall continues in the next 24 hours, landslides, rock falls, and cut slope failures are possible in Ratnapura, Kegalle, Galle, Kalutara, Matara, Hambanthota and Nuwara Eliya.

Meanwhile the National Building Research Institute says that by the end of this week it will be possible to submit a document to the people ,with a list of locations that are at risk of land slide hazards.
