On Friday, November 18, 2022, the updated registration fees for vehicles will go into effect.
Bandula Gunawardena, the minister of transport, announced an increase in the Department of Motor Traffic’s fees in a gazette dated November 14.
Thereby, the fee payable for the registration of a person as a temporary owner of a motor vehicle will be charged as follows:
- Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
- Priority basis shall be two thousand rupees;
- one day basis shall be three thousand rupees.
The fee payable for the cancellation of registration will be as follows:
- Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
- Priority basis shall be two thousand rupees;
- One day basis shall be three thousand rupees
The fee payable for the suspension of a registration of a motor vehicle will be as follows:
- Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
- Priority basis shall be one thousand five hundred rupees;
- One day basis shall be two thousand rupees.
