Bandula revised the fee of vehicle registration

On Friday, November 18, 2022, the updated registration fees for vehicles will go into effect.

Bandula Gunawardena, the minister of transport, announced an increase in the Department of Motor Traffic’s fees in a gazette dated November 14.

Thereby, the fee payable for the registration of a person as a temporary owner of a motor vehicle will be charged as follows:

  • Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
  • Priority basis shall be two thousand rupees;
  • one day basis shall be three thousand rupees.

The fee payable for the cancellation of registration will be as follows:

  • Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
  • Priority basis shall be two thousand rupees;
  • One day basis shall be three thousand rupees

The fee payable for the suspension of a registration of a motor vehicle will be as follows:

  • Normal basis shall be one thousand rupees;
  • Priority basis shall be one thousand five hundred rupees;
  • One day basis shall be two thousand rupees.
