(UTV | -Iran) – 15 people have been killed in a shooting inside a Shia mosque in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
IS The terrorist organization has claimed that the attack was carried out by its organization.
Iranian authorities said the shooter had been arrested.
The country’s state media has blamed “Takfiri terrorists” for the attack.
“Takfiri” means IS. A name Tehran uses for hardline Sunni Muslim terrorists like the organization.
Foreign media reported that the group had claimed responsibility for previous attacks in Iran, including the deadly twin bombings in 2017 that targeted Iran’s parliament and the tomb of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
