(UTV | COLOMBO) –The price of a kilogram of chicken has reduced by around Rs.250 to Rs.300.
A kilogram of chicken is now sold for between Rs.1,080 and Rs.1,250 in Colombo and several cities.
President of the All-Island Poultry Association Ajith Gunasekara said the demand for chicken reduced considerably due to the price increase in recent weeks.
He noted owing to the spike in production cost, the price of chicken increased rapidly in the past couple of months.
A kilogram of chicken was sold for between Rs. 1.450 and Rs.1,500 in Colombo.
