PUCSL declines CEB request for longer power cuts from Thursday

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Electricity Board is expected to impose one-hour-and-20-minute power cuts in residential areas today.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka yesterday announced that it declined a request by the CEB to extend the duration of power cuts.

The CEB had requested to impose two-hour-and-20-minute power cuts from today (22).

However, the PUCSL said the CEB failed to justify the extension of power cuts.

Accordingly, approval was granted for one-hour-and-20-minute power cuts to continue.

Despite the announcement by the PUCSL, power cut schedule for today has not been released thus far.
