Lotus Tower operations to begin today

(UTV | COLOMBO) –  Operations of the Lotus Tower, the tallest building in South Asia are scheduled to commence today.

The Lotus Tower was constructed at a cost of nearly USD 113 million.

Construction of the Lotus Tower commenced in 2012 and was completed on the 28th of February this year and handed over to the government.

The Chinese firm in charge of the project incurred a cost of USD 88.65 million while the government provided the remaining funds.

The loan installment payments of the project are due to be completed by 2024 while the payment of USD 66.39 million has already been completed.
