Palitha Halgahawela wins silver in the Men’s Discus Throw event

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s Palitha Halgahawela won the silver medal in the Men’s F42-44/61-64 Discus Throw event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Halgahawela claimed silver with a throw of 44.20m. Aled Davies of Wales earned gold with an F42 Games record of 51.39m.

The bronze was claimed by another Welshman, Harrison Walsh, with a throw of 54.76m.

Meanwhile, the same night Palitha Halgahawela and Yupun Abeykoon shared a moment at the Alexander Stadium when he ran over to compatriot Abeykoon for an embrace.
