(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Railways said that school students who purchased the season pass ahead of the price hike will be allowed to use the same season pass to travel.
Railways General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara said that the opportunity to use the previous season pass will be available for this month alone.
New season tickets will be issued at the current rates in August, he said.
At the same time, the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association says that bus operations will be limited today (26) due to the fuel crisis.
However, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) said buses will operate as usual today (26), while additional buses have been added for school transport services.
