Another 21,000MT of fertilizer to arrive from India

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 21,000MT of fertilizer will arrive in the country from India in the next two weeks.

The Ministry of Agriculture said the stock has been procured through the Indian credit line.

A total of 44,000MT of fertilizer from the 65,000MT procured through the Indian credit line arrived in the country last week.

The fertilizer stocks will be distributed to farmers through the Lanka Fertilizer Company and Commercial Fertilizer Company.

The Agriculture Minister has meanwhile instructed the officials to provide funds to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to obtain the necessary fuel for the distribution of fertilizer stocks.

The Ministry said fertilizer distribution is being done covering all districts.
