PM begins talks with India’s Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has commenced discussions with Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Vinay Kwatra.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra arrived in the island this morning to hold discussions pertaining Sri Lanka’s economic situation.

The four-member high-level delegation arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport at around 9.20am from New Delhi.

The delegation headed by Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra is scheduled to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and officials of the Ministry of Finance today.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said they have requested for fresh assistance from India, despite receiving loans amounting to USD 4 billion under the Indian credit line recently.
