Tuk operators increase charge for first KM to Rs.100

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Three-wheeler owners have reached a decision to increase three-wheeler fares in line with the increase in fuel prices.

Chairman of the All-Island Three-Wheeler Drivers’ and Owners’ Association Sudil Jayaruk said the fare for the first kilometre will increase to Rs.100 while each additional kilometre will cost Rs.80.

Jayaruk said they reached a decision considering passengers and in order protect their industry although the increase in fares is not sufficient.
