Government Parliamentary group meeting scheduled for today was canceled

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A special meeting of the Government Parliamentary group scheduled to be held at Temple Trees at 11 am today under the patronage of the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has been canceled.

The meeting was called to discuss over several on-going matters regarding the current crisis situation in the country.

MP Pradeep Udugoda had said that the ruling party had been informed earlier that the discussion had been abruptly canceled.

Meanwhile, a new Cabinet of Ministers is likely to be sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today.

The first meeting of the new Cabinet is expected to be held this evening. According to political sources, the new Cabinet is likely to be pruned down to 20.
