TNA MPs protesting opposite the Presidential Secretariat

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A group of Parliamentarians representing the Northern and Eastern Provinces staged a protest opposite the Presidential Secretariat this morning.

Issuing a statement, the President’s Media Division said the Parliamentarians they intended on meeting with the President to hand over a letter.

However, the PMD said the MPs had not given any prior notice pertaining to wanting to meet with the President.

The President’s Media Division said the Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarians were granted an appointment to meet with the Prime Minister adding they did not attend the meeting and instead are protesting opposite the Presidential Secretariat.
