Ex-President Sirisena leaves for South Korea

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Former President Maithripala Sirisena has left for Seoul, South Korea this morning to attend the 2022 World Summit for Peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The former President met South Korean Ambassador for Sri Lanka Woojin Jeong before departing for the summit.

Keynote speakers and participants from 157 nations will address both an in-person audience and a global virtual audience about the prospects for the peaceful reconciliation of the Korean Peninsula.

Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon extended former President Sirisena an invite to deliver the keynote address at the inaugural ceremony of the 157-nation summit.
