Party leaders to decide this week’s Parliament agenda

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Committee on Parliamentary Business is scheduled to meet this afternoon to discuss this week’s proceedings and hold sittings in accordance with the relevant health guidelines in the face of the prevailing COVID situation.

The committee is expected to discuss the COVID-19 situation at length and how it could affect future Parliament proceedings, following the confirmation of several Members of Parliament and staff contacting COVID-19 in recent days.

A decision was taken previously to convene Parliament at 10 am tomorrow and to hold sittings for four days this week.

Meanwhile, the Committee on Public Finance and the Select Committee of Parliament to look into and report to Parliament its recommendations to ensure gender equity and equality in Sri Lanka are also scheduled to meet tomorrow.
