(UTV | COLOMBO) – The head of the Department of Immunology and Molecular Biology at Sri Jayewardenepura University, Dr. Chandima Jeewandara says that so far, 45 total cases of the OMICRON variant have been detected from Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, 41 new cases of the OMICRON variant have also been detected from Sri Lanka.
In a tweet, Dr. Jeewandara said that going into 2022, Sri Lanka has plenty of mitigation measures against Omicron and the booster dose is a priority to prevent severe disease.
