Litro informs Court that it will abide by SLSI standards

(UTV | COLOMBO) –Litro Gas today informed Court that it will abide by standards of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution when distributing LP gas cylinders.

The petition filed by civil society activist Nagananda Kodituwakku was taken up before a bench comprising judges Ruwan Fernando and Sampath Wijeratne this morning for the second consecutive day.

The petition was filed seeking an order to be issued calling for Litro and Laugfs gas companies to compensate victims of gas leak explosions.

Litro Gas representatives said the SLSI standard will be indicated via a sticker on the cylinder.

The Court of Appeal meanwhile requested Litro Gas to table an affidavit in Court tomorrow citing steps that will be taken to address gas-related issues.

The Court of Appeal has directed Litro Gas to file an affidavit in court tomorrow stating the possible steps to be taken to resolve the current gas crisis.

The hearing of the petition will be taken up for consideration once again tomorrow.
