(UTV | COLOMBO) – ‘The Arrangements of Love’: Samantha to go global with ‘Downton Abbey’ director and ‘Oh! Baby’ producer
The hot and happening Samantha was all over the headlines for a few months concerning her private life. But this time Sam has made a huge announcement regarding her professional life and her fans can’t get enough of it. Yes the ever gorgeous Samantha is roped in to play a Bisexual detective in her first International film ‘Arrangement of Love’. Making it official Sam posted a picture with BAFTA-winning filmmaker Philip John of ‘Downtown Abbey’ fame and wrote, “A whole new world…..I last auditioned in 2009 for Ye Maya chesave. 12 years later, and auditioning again, I felt the very same nervousness….I guess it’s not every day you get to audition for a BAFTA award-winning, critically acclaimed, director of your most favourite series ‘Downton Abbey’ Jumping for joy that you picked me sir #PhilipJohn .. Thankyou @sunitha.tati @gurufilms1 for the opportunity.. cant wait to start this exciting journey !!(sic)”
In the film, Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays a character called Anu and is expected to play a Tamil bisexual woman who runs her own detective agency. She comes from a conservative family but wants to make her own choices as she is an independent, strong-minded woman. The film’s protagonist is a Welsh-Indian man who visits his homeland in search of his estranged father and Samantha’s character becomes part of the search. In the Hindi OTT series the actress played a key role in introducing her to the national audience, this film will surely take her places. ‘The Arrangements of Love’ will commence shooting next year. Apart from this, Samantha has given her nod to star in two bi-linguals. She will also soon be seen in a special number in ‘Pushpa’.
‘Arrangements of Love’ is an adaptation of the bestselling 2004 novel of the same title by Indian author Timeri N. Murari. Samantha Ruth Prabhu received worldwide acclaim for her work in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Family Man Season 2’. Her upcoming films include, ‘Shaakuntalam’ and ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’.
