Economic centers warn of vegetable shortage

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Economic centre traders pointed out that there may be a shortage of vegetables on the island in the future.

The traders stated that due to the adverse weather conditions and the shortage of fertilizer, there could be a shortage of vegetables by December.

Treasurer of the Manning and All Ceylon Economic Centers Association Nimal Attanayake stated that a 60% reduction is seen in the daily supply of vegetables to the Peliyagoda Manning Market.
