Inclement weather: 25 deaths, one missing

(UTV | COLOMBO) – 25 people died and one reported missing, while 222,590 people were affected in several districts of the country due to adverse weather conditions, stated the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

Over 1276 houses had been fully or partially damaged, while 222,590 people belonging to 63,317 families in 17 districts have been affected due to the adverse weather prevailing in several parts of the country, according to the DMC.

“People in the Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Gampaha, Colombo, Mannar, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Galle, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Kilinocchi, Mulaitivu and Vavuniya districts have been affected by the rains, floods, landslides and winds,” the DMC said.
