Alexis to lead “National Treasure” TV series

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Lisette Alexis (“We Need To Do Something”) has scored the lead role in the “National Treasure” TV series in the works at Disney+ and ABC Signature.

The project, executive produced by the films’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub and writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, is an expansion of the National Treasure

The series is dubbed an ‘expansion’ of the movie franchise told from the point of view of a young resourceful Latina heroine (Alexis) who goes in search of answers about her family in the adventure of a lifetime. She’ll uncover the truth about her parents and her connection to a long-lost Pan-American treasure in the process.

The film series’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer, writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley and director Jon Turteltaub are all returning as executive producers, while Mira Nair takes over as director. Rick Muirragui, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed will write and filming will begin in early 2022.
