IGP ordered to interdict Officer who assaulted youth

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekara has ordered the Inspector General of Police to interdict the Police officer who assaulted two youth in Eravur, Batticaloa.

The Public Security Ministry said in a statement that the officer in question will be arrested and produced before court.

A video of the said officer attached to the traffic division assaulting two youth opposite an eatery was circulated widely on social media.
