(UTV | COLOMBO) – The loss of Mangala Samaraweera is a loss to democracy, the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) stated today (24).
The former Minister passed away at the age-of-65, while receiving treatment after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Issuing a statement, ACMC Chairman, Parliamentarian Seyed Ameer Ali said that the news of the death of Mangala Samaraweera has caused great grief.
As a leader of the majority community, Mangala Samaraweera was the voice of the minority communities, the ACMC Chairman said that Mangala loved the minority communities and the minority communities had love and respect for Mangala, and relied on him as their voice.
The ACMC see Mangala Samaraweera as a great leader who always stood up and gave his voice for the people, Parliamentarian Seyed Ameer Ali added.
