(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 639 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours that ended at 6 this morning, for violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly, 57,435 individuals have been arrested since last October on the relevant charge.
Meanwhile, Police check points have been set up at 13 entry and exit points along the Western Province border.
Police said yesterday it inspected 1,017 individuals in 618 vehicles who attempted to leave the Western Province.
1,267 persons in 751 vehicles who entered the Western Province yesterday were also subjected to checks under quarantine regulations.
