Kurtzman to remain “Star Trek” Master

Alex Kurtzman, the architect of the studio’s modern incarnation of the “Star Trek” universe, has closed a major new nine-figure overall deal at CBS Studios.

Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout banner made the pact rumored to be in the $160 million range and which reportedly puts him among the very top tier of television writer-producers.

The agreement will keep Secret Hideout at CBS Studios through 2026 – giving the studio exclusive rights to the company’s projects for all platforms.

Additionally, Kurtzman will remain at the helm of the growing “Star Trek” franchise for the next six years. His team has grown the “Star Trek” franchise to five live-action and animated series for Paramount+ – all of which are still going or on the way. A sixth series revolving around “Section 31” is also in development.

Other projects Secret Hideout has in the works include series adaptations of “The Man Who Fell to Earth” and Stephen King’s short story “The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates”.
