Pfizer for students travelling overseas

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva says they hope to administer the Pfizer vaccines that arrived in the island, to students seeking to travel overseas to pursue higher studies.

The Army Commander said many countries only accept the Pfizer vaccine as a legitimate coronavirus vaccine.

He said there was uncertainty surrounding stocks of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVIShield vaccine dose arriving the island, adding that therefore 26,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were imported to administer to persons who received the COVIShield jab as the first vaccine.
