Pfizer vaccine as 2nd dose for people over 55

(UTV | COLOMBO) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has directed the Ministry of Health (MOH) to issue 25,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the City of Colombo to be used as the second jab on those who obtained the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The 26,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine that were brought to the country on Monday (05) will be administered as the second dose to those above the age of 55 from Colombo 01 to 15 who obtained the AstraZeneca Vaccine as the first dose.

The second dose of the vaccine will be administered from Wednesday (07) and an SMS will be sent to those who are eligible to obtain the vaccine with the date, time, and location, said Army Commander General Shavendra Silva.
