Low COVID-cases due to reduced PCR Tests

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologist claimed that the number of PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Tests have been reduced to artificially create a reduction in the number of patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Its President Ravi Kumudesh said in order to understand the true situation of the pandemic in Sri Lanka, PCR Tests must be conducted of samples obtained from society at random.

He added although the number of cases and deaths are reported daily, the true situation has not been reflected since samples are not taken from society at random.
