Around 360,000 vehicles entered Colombo during restrictions

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Around 360,000 vehicles had arrived in Colombo last week with 95 per cent of those vehicles belonging to those engaged in essential services, the Police stated.

Out of these vehicles, about 15,000 vehicles attempting to enter Colombo violating the provincial boundaries have been diverted and occupants of 8,000 vehicles violating the quarantine travel restrictions in a serious manner have been arrested and produced before Courts, the Police Media Spokesperson, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said.
