(UTV | COLOMBO) – Hong Kong has detected the coronavirus in a man who arrived in the city from Sri Lanka, www.news.gov.hk reported.
The patient is a 45-year-old man who arrived from Sri Lanka and didn’t develop any symptoms.
The city’s tally now stands at 11,882, along with 210 related deaths.
The Centre for Health Protection said 33 Covid infections had been recorded in the 14 days between June 2 to 15 – including three local infections with one from unknown sources.
Meanwhile, the Centre for Health Protection was notified by the Macao health authority of a suspected second positive case for the same person in Macao last night, which involved an 18-year-old man.
The center’s epidemiological investigations showed that the man was diagnosed on December 16, 2020, who was epidemiologically linked with a local case. The patient had recovered and was discharged from the hospital on December 30, 2020.
“He tested negative for COVID-19 on June 13 this year and went to Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port on the same day. He tested weakly positive for COVID-19 on June 15 during quarantine in Macao,” said a spokesman of the Department of Health.
“According to information provided by the Macao health authority, the patient tested positive for antibodies. The CHP is following up on the case with the Macao health authority including comparing the genetic sequence of the samples,” the spokesman added.
The building – Wah Chun House of Wah Fu Estate in Pok Fu Lam – where the man had resided will be put under a compulsory testing notice.
