Pakistan High Commissioner distributes food items among the flood affectees

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Major General (Retd) Muhammad Saad Khattak visited Beruwala on Saturday (12) and on behalf of the Government of Pakistan distributed food items among the flood affectees of the region in the presence of Piyal Nishantha De Silva, State Minister of Women and Child Development, Pre-schools & Primary Education, School Infrastructure & Education Services.

The High Commissioner also visited Galle and distributed food items among the flood affectees in Galle Region. Mohan Priyadarshana De Silva, State Minister of Production and Supply and Regulation of Organic and Natural Fertilizer was also present. Flash floods and mudslides with heavy rains in Sri Lanka have left many people missing and displaced, apart from some fatal casualties.

During the visit, The High Commissioner assured Pakistan stands with our Sri Lankan brethren in this hour of need & will continue relief assistance and full support in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries. He further said that Pakistan is committed to provide continued support to Sri Lanka.
