(UTV | COLOMBO) – As part of a recent financial call this past week, SEGA has revealed a list of dormant video game franchises that they believe still have potential enough to revive in the future.
The once major publisher has changed over the years, in recent times mainly being known for some specific franchises and game titles. These include the ever-present “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise to game series like “Total War,” “Persona” and “Football Manager” and as publisher of titles like “Two Point Hospital” and the “Yakuza” series.
SEGA is certainly aware how valuable past franchises can be and have dipped their toe in recent revivals with the likes of “Streets of Rage 4” and “Shenmue 3”. Now they’ve added some more names to the list to be potentially remastered, remade or rebooted.
These include “Altered Beast,” “Crazy Taxi, “House of the Dead,” “Jet Set Radio,” “Panzer Dragon,” “Rez,” “Shinobi,” “Soul Hackers,” and “Virtua Fighter”.
SEGA is also working on a ‘super game’ which is a major first-person shooter project which could be the company’s shot at a “Call of Duty: Warzone” style title.
