Penn Jillette joins “Borderland” film

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Magician and comedian Penn Jillette has revealed that he’s scored a role in the Eli Roth-directed film adaptation of the “Borderlands” video game franchise at Lionsgate.

Jillette, one half of the duo known as Penn & Teller, will shortly fly to Budapest to film his role alongside the film’s stacked cast including Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, Edgar Ramirez and Gina Gershon among others.

Jillette revealed his casting on an episode of Penn’s Sunday School podcast (via Slashfilm, saying he’ll appear in a few scenes as a preacher overseeing a wedding when a fight scene interrupts the nuptials.

Afterwards, he ends up in a space paddywagon alongside Hart’s character Roland with whom he shares most of his scenes. Roth is directing from a script by “Chernobyl” writer Craig Mazin.

Penn and Teller both previously made an appearance in the “Borderlands 3” game as the villainous duo Pain and Terror.

“Borderlands” is expected to hit cinemas sometime in 2022.
