Police arrest motorist for obstructing Police duties

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A motorist has been arrested over allegations he obstructed the duties of the Police when China’s Defence Minister, General Wei Fenghe arrived in Sri Lanka.

The suspect had instigated other motorists when the road was temporarily closed as the convoy of the Diplomat was passing by.

Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the incident had occurred in Borella.

The suspect is a 31-year-old resident of Battaramulla and had been in Australia for 10-years.
