Testing of coconut oil samples, underway

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Food Control Administration Unit (FCAU) of the Health Ministry tasked to collect samples of imported coconut oil from various parts of the country for testing of Aflatoxin Levels.

This will be done through Public Health Inspectors (PHIs).

However, since the current standard for Aflatoxin Levels is 30 micrograms / kilogramme, legal action will have to be taken based on this level, FCAU Director Dr Thilak Siriwardena said.
