Kaley Cuoco to play Doris Day

Following their success with spy comedy “The Flight Attendant” on HBO Max, Kaley Cuoco and her Yes, Norman Productions banner will again team with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television for a limited series about actor/singer and activist Doris Day.
The companies have picked up the screen rights to A.E. Hotchner’s biography “Doris Day: Her Own Story” based on a series of interviews with Day who passed away in 2019 at the age of 97.

Cuoco will play Day who starred in such films as “Pillow Talk,” “Calamity Jane” and “The Man Who Knew Too Much” where she sang her signature song “Que Sera, Sera”.

No network or streamer is currently attached to the project, though HBO Max is likely to be the first potential port of call. The streamer also announced this morning that it intends to release the second season of “The Flight Attendant” in Spring 2022.

Cuoco also executive produces and stars in the animated adult comedy “Harley Quinn” for the service.
