(UTV | COLOMBO) – SLFP leaders are misusing the party today to safeguard their power and gain ministerial portfolios, Kalutara district MP Kumara Welgama said.
Welgama said that there is a danger of an emerging COVID-19 cluster from Parliament soon. “Measures should be taken to prevent this situation, he said. Speaking at a meeting organized by the SJB in Nawalapitiya, Welgama said social distancing cannot be maintained in Parliament.
The employers show reluctance to increase the daily wage of plantation workers to Rs.1000.The government should intervene to increase their daily wage soon as promised by the Finance Minister through the Budget, he said.
