Jared Leto will reprise his 2016 “Suicide Squad” role of The Joker for shooting of additional scenes for the upcoming ‘Snyder Cut’ version of 2017’s “Justice League” for HBO Max.
Shooting is currently underway with Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard among those involved on top of Leto, though it is unclear which other actors are involved. Leto’s character did not appear in the original 2017 movie.
In addition producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, then-studio executives who oversaw the movie and the reshoot by Joss Whedon, are being moved to the side and will not be receiving producer credits on the Snyder Cut.
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” will be a four-episode event series for HBO Max who is financing the new round of shooting and the completion of many unfinished scenes.
Snyder produced “Suicide Squad” which itself suffered from studio interference and there have been calls for that to get its own director’s cut with helmer David Ayer teasing that his version would not require the extensive rework that “Justice League”.
