Sandra Oh, Alison Williams to lead horror films

Two strong actresses have just been handed the lead roles in some upcoming horror features.

Golden Globe-winning “Killing Eve” star Sandra Oh has scored the lead role in “Umma,” the Sam Raimi-produced horror feature.

Oh plays Allison, a mother living a quiet life on an American farm with her daughter. Things start to crumble when the remains of Allison’s estranged mother arrive from Korea and create a fear within her of turning into her own mother.

Iris K. Shim penned and directs the film which stars the likes of Fivel Stewart, Dermot Mulroney, Odeya Rush, MeeWha Alana Lee and Tom Yi.

The other actress is “Girls” and “Get Out” star Allison Williams who has been cast in the James Wan-produced sci-fi thriller “M3GAN”.

Conceived by Wan and written by Akela Cooper, Williams plays a brilliant roboticist at a toy company who develops a brand-new AI-powered doll named M3GAN that is supposed to be a great companion for children and a godsend for parents.

Things don’t go as planned in the Gerard Johnstone-directed feature which Blumhouse will release.
