Committee studying 20th Amendment hands over report to PM

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The report of the Committee appointed by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to study the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, was handed over to the Prime Minister today.

The committee members have briefed the Premier on the facts that should be added anew to the 20A and what needed to be amended.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa appointed a committee chaired by Minister of Education Prof. G. L. Peiris to study the 20th Amendment.

Cabinet Ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Ali Sabry, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Wimal Weerawansa and State Ministers Susil Premajayantha, S. Viyalendran and MPs Dilan Perera and Premanath C. Dolawatte were appointed as other members of the committee.
