4 new cases identified: Infections rise to 2,875

UTV | COLOMBO – Four returnees from the United Arab Emirates have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Government Information Department said the infections in Sri Lanka accordingly increase to 2,875.

Accordingly, 242 active coronavirus patients continue to receive in-house treatment.

The number of coronavirus recoveries in the country rose to 2,622 after 29 persons who contracted the virus recovered and were discharged during the past 24 hours.

49 individuals, suspected to have contracted the virus, are also under observation.

Among the country’s COVID-19 infections are 950 Lankan overseas returnees.

The largest coronavirus cluster was reported amongst Navy personnel and their associates, recording 950 cases as well.
