UTV | COLOMBO – Another 417 persons have been arrested during special Police raids carried out in the Western Province.
The operation was carried out between 6am yesterday and 5 this morning.
The majority of suspects, 182, were arrested on charges related to heroin.
Over 177g of heroin were also seized during the special raids.
95 persons had been arrested over charges related to illicit liquor while 94 were arrested on marijuana related charges and 17 persons were arrested over the possession of ICE.
20 suspects were arrested during other raids.
