100,000 O/L students yet to apply for NICs

UTV | COLOMBO – The Department for Registration of Persons says 100,000 applications for National Identity Cards for school applicants sitting the 2020 Ordinary Level Examination in December are yet to be received.

The Department said 350,000 applications are roughly submitted by candidates annually.

When inquired by a prominent online news portal in the isle the spokesman said only 250,000 applications have been received thus far.

The Department accordingly requested school applicants and novice monks, sitting the 2020 exam, to promptly submit applications before the 31st of August.
