COVID-19 cases increase to 2,810

UTV | COLOMBO -Five individuals contracted the coronavirus yesterday increasing the number of infections in the country to 2,810.

The Government Information Department said four returnees from the United Arab Emirates and an individual from the Senapura Rehabilitation Centre were among those who tested positive for the virus.

Sri Lanka recorded the highest single day figure of COVID-19 recoveries with 175 persons being discharged from hospitals yesterday.

Recoveries accordingly rose to 2,296. 503 persons are currently receiving medical treatment at nine facilities across the country.

65 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.

Among the coronavirus infections in the country are 917 Lankan returnees from overseas.
