General Election related complaints rise to 5,236

UTV | COLOMBO – The number of complaints filed in relation to the upcoming Parliamentary Election has increased to 5,236.

163 complaints were lodged during a 24-hour period that ended at 4pm yesterday.

The Election Commission noted that all complaints are pertaining to flouting of election laws.

Accordingly, the Election Commission stated that 1,011 complaints have been lodged with the National Election Complaints Management Centre, while a total of 4,225 complaints have been lodged with the District Election Complaints Management Centres thus far.
