COVID-19 recoveries rise to 1,981

UTV | COLOMBO – One coronavirus recovery was recorded in the country today.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said the number of recoveries from the novel coronavirus accordingly increases to 1,981, after a COVID-19 patient was discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases yesterday.

Meanwhile the number of persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus stands at 2,511.

57 cases were detected within the past 24 hours.

906 Navy personnel, 820 Sri Lankans who returned from overseas and 383 persons at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, are among the COVID-19 cases identified thus far.

519 persons who contracted the coronavirus are currently receiving medical treatment while 99 suspected cases are also under medical observation.
